Minister Salako: Tinubu’s Reforms Will Soon Ease Economic Hardship

Dr. Iziaq Salako, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, has assured Nigerians that the ongoing reforms championed by President Bola Tinubu are poised to alleviate the current economic challenges. Speaking at an event in Ayetoro, Ogun State, on Tuesday, the minister urged citizens to remain hopeful and patient as the government continues its efforts to steer the country toward economic recovery.
Relief Initiatives for Vulnerable Nigerians

The event, held at the Omidokun Hall in Yewa North Local Government Area, featured the distribution of subsidy removal palliatives and free medical services to residents. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities during these tough times.

Dr. Salako revealed that 1,300 bags of rice and 600 bags of fertilizers were distributed across the five local government areas of Ogun West Senatorial District. Beneficiaries included party members, market women, religious organizations, traditional rulers, and community leaders.

“Our distribution process is designed to ensure fairness and transparency,” the minister stated. “Items are clearly labeled for each group, and we’ve introduced the recipients to the distribution drivers to avoid confusion and maintain order.”
Addressing the Food Crisis

Highlighting the government’s efforts to combat the food crisis worsened by the removal of fuel subsidies, Salako emphasized that the distribution of food and farming inputs is part of a broader plan to stabilize the economy.

“This is just one of the steps being taken by President Tinubu’s administration to ensure that today’s hardships are only temporary,” he said. “The government is determined to bring prosperity to all Nigerians.”
President Tinubu’s Festive Message

The minister also referenced President Tinubu’s Christmas message, encouraging Nigerians to celebrate responsibly. “The president wants us to enjoy the holidays safely while remaining hopeful for a brighter future,” Salako shared. He reiterated the administration’s confidence in the reforms being implemented, assuring that they will soon yield positive results for the nation.
Hope for Economic Recovery

Dr. Salako’s remarks reflect the government’s optimism about the trajectory of Tinubu’s reform agenda. While challenges remain, initiatives like these demonstrate a commitment to supporting Nigerians and laying the foundation for a sustainable economic turnaround.
